Career Education and Guidance in Secondary Schools

Our careers model is built around delivering the “journey to excellence” pathway as outlined by Ofsted.

Our career guidance for students in Secondary Schools is aimed at students from Year 7 all the way up to Year 13. These students receive a tailor-made provision whether in an Independent or State school. Our services are focused on equipping young people with the knowledge, information and confidence to make informed decisions about their future aspirations.

Our model consists of the following:

  • Year 7-11 dedicated Career Mentoring Service
    • Designed around the schools curriculum, this bespoke service places a Career Mentor into your school to deliver a dedicated programme of provisions. This is tailored to meet your school's individual needs. 
  • Post 16 Career Mentoring Service – destination management
    • Specialising in post 16 Career education and guidance for students in 6th Form. 
  • Employer Business Engagement Services
    • We create partnerships with local and national businesses to build lasting relationships between students and employers that is beneficial to the school and can in turn help generate apprenticeship, employment and work experience opportunities.
  • Work Experience Placement Model
    • We will manage and deliver the entire work experience programme using our traffic light system, designed to ensure that each student undertakes work experience in the sector/career/industry highlighted as part of their individual IAG plan. We will also manage the Health and Safety checks and requirements along with pre and post work experience workshops, working closely with employers  to ensure the placement provides a true experience of the working environment.
  • Career Specific Event Management Package
    • We have developed a number of key career related events which play a key part in delivering a careers education programme. Our signature events include: The Career Detective Day, Stress Management Workshops, Creative Careers Events and Apprenticeship Evenings.

As part of our career model we pledge to deliver:

  • Impartial and independent high quality careers guidance for all year 8-13 pupils
  • Enabling and empowering young people to make informed decisions and achieve their potential
  • Support and enable each pupil to develop high aspirations and consider a broad and ambitious range of careers
  • We set expectations high, including specialist services for students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • To deliver and arrange inspirational employer talks, careers fairs, motivational speakers, college and university visits, coaches and mentors
  • Supporting high attaining pupils to make an informed choices and decisions
  • We work closely with schools to promote entrepreneurship
  • To work in partnership with employers, to provide relevant, fulfilling and engaging work experience for young people

Stress Management Workshop 

As part of In2Ambition’s Hearts and Minds Programme

We understand that students can experience stress from time to time, especially during exams! With the help of our experts, we have created specialised workshops that combat exam stress, anxiety and fear.

Practical and interactive sessions are designed to share the most helpful techniques to overcome the symptoms of stress and anxiety; plus share with individuals how to manage and even potentially prevent this in the future!

These workshops can be tailored to accommodate any number of students, that you identify are showing signs of stress.

Career Detective Event

This innovative half day event is designed to bring industry and employers to you; enabling your students to learn about a wide range of different career opportunities through speed interviewing and interrogation of career representatives.

Students have the opportunity to learn about numerous careers, whilst also being able to see the importance of other skills that are needed in life.

We are committed to providing innovative and inspiring knowledge and skills to support students in understanding and preparing for the world of work.

The activity is tailor-made to fit the needs of your students and the curriculum, offering exciting career guidance for students in secondary schools.
